Project Story
On January 10, 2019, the DRC election was successfully concluded in Kinshasa. As a major local political event, it had strict requirements for the quantity, delivery timeliness, and quality of supporting supplies. These custom supplies were used by on-site staff and for event promotion, serving as a key part of election preparations.
Project Goals
The DRC election organizers aimed to ensure on-site order and recognition through customized T-shirts, hats, and other supplies. They also required the mass production and delivery of supplies within a short timeframe to align with the election schedule.
Challenges
Scale and Timeliness Pressure: Producing 7.5 million supplies across multiple categories within 30 days posed extreme demands on production scheduling and efficiency.
Delivery Coordination Difficulty: After production, air freight arrangements were needed to ensure timely arrival in the DRC, aligning seamlessly with the election timeline.
Solutions
Full-Capacity Collaborative Production: An emergency production plan was activated, utilizing 5,000 sqm of factory space across 3 production bases. Over 300 staff collaborated with clear division of labor: the raw material center prioritized fabric supply; sewing and printing centers produced in parallel by category; and hourly capacity tracking ensured controllable progress for all items.
Efficient Delivery Coordination: Air freight logistics were arranged during the final production phase. Packaging and customs clearance procedures were completed in advance, enabling immediate air shipment upon production completion to ensure rapid delivery to the DRC.
All 7.5 million custom election supplies (2 million T-shirts, 2 million hats, 1 million scarves, 1 million flags, and 500,000 umbrellas) were produced within 30 days and delivered to the DRC by air. They supported the election project and received high recognition from DRC government staff and intermediaries.
The 2019 DRC election, completed in Kinshasa on January 10, relied on thorough preparations. The timely supply of custom supplies ensured on-site organization and unified branding for the event.
